01 — Features

Reads the race.
Respects your rhythm.

From race callouts and vehicle dynamics to recording and replay, turn telemetry into information you can use while driving and revisit after the race.

01 / Race Awareness

Hear the race unfold

Position changes, lap times, personal bests and laps remaining reach you over the radio, so you can turn off the HUD (on-screen race information), reduce visual distractions and enjoy a more immersive drive — especially on PSVR2.

Fuel warnings, sustained tyre heat and basic driving alerts share the same callout system. Choose your event types and broadcast density to suit your driving rhythm.

02 / Voice Policy

Knows when to speak

An event does not always mean an immediate callout. VoicePolicy — the rules for what to say and when — considers driving load and priority, holding eligible routine messages through heavy braking, demanding corners and instability.

Duplicates are merged or filtered, and expired messages are dropped. Critical alerts take priority; time-sensitive race updates, such as the start and crossing the line, are called promptly.

03 / Fuel Intelligence

Know how far your fuel can go

Recent valid full laps establish a fuel baseline. Fuel use at matching track positions then helps the estimate follow sustained changes in consumption.

Smooths out brief throttle-driven swings while gradually following sustained changes in fuel mapping or driving style, giving you a steadier range estimate for fuel and pit-stop planning.

04 / Vehicle Dynamics

Read what the car is doing

Steering, speed, wheelbase and actual vehicle motion are combined through vehicle-dynamics relationships to compare requested and actual response, identifying persistent understeer, clear sustained oversteer and driven-wheel spin.

Brief alerts help you notice steering and throttle behaviour. Basic driving guidance is enabled at Frequent broadcast density; a small correction is not automatically treated as oversteer.

Clear sustained oversteer“Rear sliding. Stay steady.”

05 / Natural Speech

Natural Mandarin.
Cantonese, too.

Mandarin, Cantonese and English each have their own spoken templates and number formatting. Cantonese uses its own phrasing, with lap times, positions and racing terms shaped for each language.

Set the interface and spoken language independently. Read the data in the language you prefer, and hear the race in the voice you feel at home with.

07 / Local Recording

Keep the data behind every drive

Record raw GT7 telemetry to a local .gttr file. Load it after the race to revisit vehicle behaviour and driver inputs, with data to support your review.

Play, pause, seek and change replay speed to examine key moments. Raw data stays on your computer; events and callout decisions are rebuilt during replay.

08 / Callout Timeline

Every callout has a reason

Follow race events and callout states on a clear timeline. See what was spoken, what is waiting, and what was filtered or replaced.

Select an event to inspect the triggering facts, voice-policy decision, final spoken text and playback state. Understand what your engineer said — and why a message did or did not make it to the radio.

09 / Telemetry Inspector

A clearer view of your car

Explore available telemetry in groups, from speed, engine revs and driver inputs to fuel, tyres, suspension and acceleration. Current readings and trend charts help explain vehicle behaviour.

Direct readings and calculated values are distinguished, with field sources and validity made clear. Unreliable readings stay unavailable, rather than turning missing data into zero or estimates into game facts.

02 — Local First

Raw telemetry stays
on your computer

LAN telemetry

Read-only GT7 telemetry over your LAN: no PSN login and no changes to console or game data. GT7 connection and telemetry viewing work without signing in.

Lossless raw capture

Raw telemetry is recorded unchanged on your computer for local replay and event inspection. Raw telemetry and recording files are not uploaded by default.

Minimal cloud boundary

Cloud speech synthesis receives only the minimum text needed for a callout. Accounts, Discord connections and update checks also use the network. Diagnostic uploads require your consent.

03 — Setup

Three steps.
Your engineer in the cockpit.

Connect your computer and PS5 to the same local network, choose where to listen, then drive. The public beta is free; voice requires an approved application and active access.

  1. Install. Connect your PS5.

Download and install PitRadio. Put your computer and PS5 on the same local network, open GT7, then select “Find my PlayStation” in the app. You can also enter its IP address manually.

  2. Choose where to hear your engineer.

Listen through your computer’s speakers or headphones. For PS5 or PSVR2 audio, follow the app’s Discord setup guide and join the matching voice channel on your PS5.

  3. Pick your language. Hit the track.

Once signed in with active voice access, choose your language, callout density and output in Race Engineer, then enable callouts. Start driving; your engineer picks the moment based on the race and your driving workload.

Getting started

What is PitRadio?
PitRadio is a desktop race engineer for GT7. It uses local-network telemetry to call out race information and vehicle conditions, with local data views and raw telemetry recording and replay for a more immersive drive and evidence to revisit afterwards.
What equipment do I need?
A PS5, GT7, and a macOS or Windows computer on the same reachable local network. Your computer needs an audio device and internet access. PSVR2 is optional; TV players can use PitRadio too.
Can I turn off the HUD and race in PSVR2?
Yes. Key race information comes through voice callouts, reducing HUD (on-screen game information) distractions and making driving more immersive. Callouts do not cover everything shown in the game, so keep any HUD elements you need.

Due to the limitations of GT7 telemetry, if you need tire-wear data, weather information, TCS, brake balance, and fuel map data, select “Display Car Info Only” in GT7’s Display Settings. Combining this in-game information with voice callouts lets you stay informed while keeping visual distractions to a minimum. However, in most game modes, you can turn the HUD off completely and get all in-game information through voice callouts alone. TV players can use this setup too.
Do I need Discord?
Not for listening through your computer’s speakers or headphones. For PS5 or PSVR2 audio, follow the app’s Discord setup guide and join the matching voice channel on your PS5.
Which languages are supported?
The interface supports Simplified Chinese, Hong Kong Traditional Chinese and English. Callouts support Mandarin, Cantonese and English. You can set the interface and callout languages separately.
Can I ask my engineer questions?
The current version provides proactive callouts. Microphone questions, two-way radio conversations and wake-word controls are not supported yet.
Can I choose another voice?
PitRadio currently uses a default engineer voice, with no voice selection. No release date has been set for additional voices.

Beta access & capabilities

How much does PitRadio cost?
The public beta is free. Voice features require an approved application and active access. Pricing after the beta has not been announced.
Do I need an account to use it?
GT7 connection, telemetry viewing, language settings and feedback work without signing in. Both local and Discord callouts, including previews, require a signed-in account with active voice access.
How accurate are the data and callouts?
PitRadio distinguishes game-provided data from calculated results. Fuel range is an estimate, and vehicle-condition callouts depend on valid telemetry and rule-based detection. Messages also account for priority and driving workload: waiting for a suitable moment does not mean a callout was missed.
What information is not available yet?
PitRadio does not currently provide reliable gaps to other cars, tyre-wear percentages or remaining tyre life. Precise braking-point, racing-line and gear-shift guidance, reference-lap comparisons, post-race reports and pit strategy are still planned features.

Privacy & installation

Does PitRadio upload my race data?
Raw telemetry and recordings stay on your computer by default. Minimal diagnostics require consent; individual feedback has a separate confirmation. Cloud synthesis receives minimal spoken text, not raw recordings.
Does voice need the internet? Who sees my data?
Speech synthesis runs in the cloud, so voice output needs a connection. But the app only sends the single sentence to be spoken (e.g. "fuel for 3 laps") through a controlled service to the speech provider — raw telemetry, recordings and mic audio are never in that path.
Do I need to sign in with PSN? Any risk to my PS5 or account?
No. PitRadio reads GT7 telemetry over your LAN without signing in to PSN, installing console plugins or modifying console or game data.
What does "Report a problem" collect?
You confirm the description, occurrence time, version, anonymous installation/session identifiers and available Trace ID before submitting. Continuous diagnostics are off by default and require separate consent. Raw audio, full callout text and recordings are not uploaded automatically.
macOS says "unverified developer" — what now?
Beta packages have not yet been notarized by Apple. Verify the download source and follow the macOS Privacy & Security prompts. Available actions depend on your macOS version.
